LGBTQ Mental Health Resources

LGBTQ mental health resources were made available to me from a mental health professional via email. He indicated that through my social media channel he perceived me to be someone with an interest in social justice. He shared a few resources he suggested could be of interest or that I could use.

Kudos for his creative approach.

I looked at his profile and followed a few links. His social media channels and professional sites speak to the legitimacy of his work, and it appears he has put a lot of effort into generating his content. Most importantly, it is helpful information that could support mental health challenges people face everyday.

Below you will find the body of the email with the linked resources. Consume the information or share it with someone you know that could use it.

” Howdie friend!

Yes, I found you on instagram and then did some digging to get your contact. I got the sense that we both like books and issues related to mental health and social justice. I’m a clinical social worker and queer therapist. I’m also a clinical supervisor, lecturer, podcast host, and writer. I’m based in Toronto but have been doing some social work knowledge exchange in South Africa this past year.

I’d like to share a few resources I’ve produced that I’m hoping will be of interest/use to you!”

COGNITIVE-BEHAVIOURAL THERAPY PODCAST

The CBT Dive podcast goes into the lives of real people with real struggles. Each episode welcomes a new guest who wants to explore a challenging situation using the most common cognitive behavioral therapy tool: the thought record. As a queer, radicalized social worker and psychotherapist based in Toronto, I’ve created this podcast to support folks who want to learn how to use this clinical tool and to demystify what therapy can look like. You can check out all my episodes here: video AND audio.”
